I was having trouble with the nail on my left great toe, so I found a podiatrist who was able to relieve the pressure of the ingrown nail. Now I am set for life.
On the first visit, she trimmed the nail so it was not pressing into the flesh. That relieved the pain for the time being. On the next visit, she removed about an eighth of in inch and treated the nail bed with silver nitrate so that the nail would not grow back there.
This is after she deadened the nerves on both sides of my great toe. After about 10 minutes she returned to finish off. |
This is after the procedure was done. Now, it took a bit to stop the blood. |
After the bleeding stopped, she applied a pressure dressing. |
All dried off and ready for a band-aid. |
I applied Bacitracin ointment before finishing off with a band-aid. |
