Pet Rock

One of my granddaughters is experimenting with pets. She had a hamster, but he kept biting her, so she passed it along to her siblings. She got a Beta fish, but it just sat in one place and never moved, so she returned it for a couple of fish that moved around, and one died. She returned it to the pet store. She wants a dog, but her parents know they would end up taking care of it. So, she is thinking of a cat. They have had a cat before.

I told her that she should get a pet rock. They are much easier to take care of. In the mean time I was digging in our back yard and uncovered a rock. I washed it off and gave it a sonic cleaning. I decided to adopt it and give it a home. So I had to make a place for it. I haven't named it yet. I thought of Rocky or Stoney, but I think I'll end up naming it something else.

Edit: I decided on Cephus. It means stone.

All cleaned up and ready for its new home.

Here is the crate I built for Cephus.

Cephus likes his new crate.

He also likes it when I take him out of the crate.

I am teaching him tricks.
This is "lay down."

This one is "stay."

This is, "Take a bow."

This one is "play dead."

This is "beg."

After doing his tricks, Cephus likes to go back in his crate.
