Cantrell Hills Progress 2

I took these pictures about 1:45 PM today, Wednesday. The wall is now 12 courses of block tall. They are filling in behind the wall in these pictures. They are getting the fill dirt from the pile of dirt right behind our house.

At the other end of the wall, the crew is working to complete that end.

Update: 5 PM

I went down to check the progress and was able to talk with one of the engineers. They are putting the final course of blocks on now. So, that is about 15 courses high.

Thursday: 4 PM,

The wall is almost finished. They have a few blocks to finish on the far end, and then they will put cap blocks on last.

They have about three feet of dirt to fill in behind the wall on the far end.

This one is right behind our house. The big hill of dirt is going away fast. They are using this dirt to fill behind the block wall.

September 17: They finished the wall with a top cap and are doing back filling now.

Taken around 3:00PM.

Cantrell Hills Progress

About 1:00PM

Here are some photos I took today. They are starting the block wall on the west side of the drainage hole next to Clear Creek Road. In the photo, the worker is working of the 7th or 8th block of the first row of the wall.

Later: About 3:30 PM

They are laying two rows. Almost at the end.

Looks like they finished up around the drain pipe.

The next six pictures are panoramic starting at about northwest and panning to southeast.

They are digging back where the farm house was.

About 6 PM

They have completed three courses of block. Between the second and third course, they put in a webbing that goes back 20 feet and is covered with dirt. Also behind the block and inside the block is crushed rock. Drainage pipes run through the back of the block and through to the front of the block.

Additional stones were place at the outlet.

Next day: About 9:15 AM I took these pictures. They have gone up to the seventh level of block. They buried one layer of mesh and are waiting on dirt to bury the second layer of mesh. Then you can see the third layer of mesh on top of the seventh row of block.

They are continuing to work on the far end.

About 3PM

Parson's Table

We are getting new carpet, so I decided to get rid of the gas stove/heater that came with the house that we never used except to put things on. In its place I made this parsons table with wood I had on hand except for one stick of case molding that I bought to go around the top. I painted it with chestnut spray paint. It is now living outside until it loses its smell.

Happy Fathers Day

David came up with the kids today and brought along my Fathers Day gift. I got a pack of Wiley Wallaby Soft and Chewy Licorice and a puzzle box by Professor Puzzle: The Puzzling Obscurities Box of Brainteasers. It contains ten Matchbox Puzzles and fifty matchstick challenges. Well, I worked my way through the Matchbox Puzzles. I solved nine, but I was unable to solve the T puzzle. I worked and worked on it, but I eventually did what David did. I looked up the solution. Here are the completed puzzles. Now on to the matchstick challenges.

Clear Creek Bridge Opens

The bridge is finally open. I made this little video crossing the bridge from both directions.
