Goodies from Hawaii

 Just received a secret package from Dave in Hawaii: four boxes of Mauna Loa Mountains Chocolate covered macadamia nuts, and two bottles of salted macadamia nuts. Thanks Dave. What a great surprise!

Snow 1-16-22

 We woke up to about 6-8 inches of snow this morning. It's supposed to snow most of the day.

Making of Minecraft Swords for Micah's Birthday Party

My grandson, Micah, is about to have a birthday, and his Dad, David, asked me if I could make some wood Minecraft swords for the party. So, of course, I had to.

I looked up what they look like and drew one out using Paint on my computer.

Then, I enlarged it and split the image so it would print to one 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper.

I pasted the images on a piece of cardboard and cut it out. Then, I used that as a template to draw swords on some 1/4 inch pieces of plywood.

Then, today, I cut the swords from the plywood pieces and sanded off the rough edges.

Lego International Space Station

 David's family gave me this Lego International Space Station for my birthday about a week late, but that's ok. I worked on it over two days and it took me about 6 hours total to put it together. Well, it did have 864 pieces.

Cantrell Hills Progress 2

I took these pictures about 1:45 PM today, Wednesday. The wall is now 12 courses of block tall. They are filling in behind the wall in these pictures. They are getting the fill dirt from the pile of dirt right behind our house.

At the other end of the wall, the crew is working to complete that end.

Update: 5 PM

I went down to check the progress and was able to talk with one of the engineers. They are putting the final course of blocks on now. So, that is about 15 courses high.

Thursday: 4 PM, 

The wall is almost finished. They have a few blocks to finish on the far end, and then they will put cap blocks on last.

They have about three feet of dirt to fill in behind the wall on the far end.

This one is right behind our house. The big hill of dirt is going away fast. They are using this dirt to fill behind the block wall. 

September 17: They finished the wall with a top cap and are doing back filling now.
